String.fontcolor() Method

Name

String.fontcolor() Method---set a string's color with <FONT>

Synopsis

string.fontcolor(color)

Arguments

color

A string that specifies the color name or value to be used as the value of the COLOR attribute in the <FONT> HTML tag.

Returns

A copy of string, contained within <FONT COLOR="color"> and </FONT> HTML tags.

Usage

Colors are specified either as one of the standard color names recognized by JavaScript, or as red, green, and blue color values, expressed as six hexadecimal digits in the form RRGGBB.

Example

The first two lines of the following code fragment have the same effect as the second two:

var s1 = 'Red'.fontcolor('red');
var s2 = 'Gray'.fontcolor('A0A0A0');    red, green, & blue are all 0xA0
var s1 = '<FONT COLOR="red">Red</FONT>'
var s2 = '<FONT COLOR="A0A0A0">Gray</FONT>'
