wcvt2pov v2.7 is a freeware utility, running under MS Windows, to convert between various 3D and scene file formats.
wcvt2pov imports and allows conversion between numerous 3D and scene file formats. This package reads Wavefront OBJ, Haines NFF, RAW, TPOLY, DXF, GEO, 3DS, and TTF (TrueType), and writes DXF, POVRay, 3DS, ASC, Haines NFF, RAW, TPOLY, TrueSpace COB, VRML, and Wavefront OBJ. The object or scene being converted is displayed prior to conversion into the destination format, and can be rotated, mirrored, and scaled.
This is a remarkable program, especially at the price. Scaling and surface coloring of converted objects are two areas of concern when converting 3D objects. Unlike many conversion programs, wcvt2pov allows manipulation during preview which allows you to adjust the appearance of the object prior to import by the destination application.
The program was originally intended as an adjunct to the POV rendering system, but has evolved into a general-purpose utility.
